Houghtaling's Garage was started in the mid-1950's as a farm equipment dealership by Leroy Houghtaling. Leroy brought with him his experience of serving the agriculture as a custom operator of thrashing machines and buying and selling hay.
Leroy's son, Kevin, took over the business in the late 1970's to continue his father's legacy of serving the farming community.
Over the last 60 years Houghtaling's Garage has seen many changes to the farm equipment industry and have adapted to keep up with technology and better serve their customers.
Kevin Houghtaling As owner of Houghtaling's Garage, Kevin has put the customer first for more than 35 years. Under his leadership, Houghtaling's Garage has grown from a two-man operation to as many as 9 employees during the busy summer months. Currently, Houghtaling's Garage has three full-time employees and one part-time employess who follow Kevin's belief that our customers are our greatest asset. Kevin's mechanical abilities are among the top in the state and he's always willing to assist in the shop whenever those "unfixable" problems arise. As a salesman, his friendly, courteous manner goes a long way with customers, and helped him become the number one salesman for Gehl rotary mowers in his territory, which included parts of Virginia, West Virginia, and western Pennsylvania.
Roger hails from Knoxville and Austinburg and brings with him a wealth of experience. He grew up helping his dad run their John Deere dealership at Academy Corners (Knoxville), and holds service technician certificates for a number of brand names, including John Deere and Volkswagon. Roger's expertise in electrical repairs and wiring comes from years of working in maintenance at the Westfield Tannery. When he's not busy beneath a tractor or lawn mower, he can be found filling in at the parts counter or servicing the many computers at Houghtaling's Garage. If there's one thing Roger likes, it's a challenge. Got a problem with your engine? We're sure Roger can figure it out!
